I sent home a sign up sheet and Code Club flyer with all the 4th graders Thursday. On Friday 16 students had signed up (that’s about 1/3 of the students in grade 4). Bonus: I’ve got an equal number of boys and girls. Oh, yes, I’m excited.
Since the start of the year when the principal announced to all students at an assembly that I was starting an after school computer club for 4th graders, there’s been a lot of buzz about it. Parents have been emailing me. Students quiz me about it. I’m a bit taken aback by it all. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, but I didn’t think it would be so popular.
Twenty students is the limit. I know some students who expressed interest that have not signed up. By Monday we might be full and I’ll have to generate a waiting list. Who knew?
